In collaboration with DEHN Nederland B.V., we at Schleifenbauer produced an extensive and substantive article entitled ‘surge protection in your data centre’.

Here we will discuss the risks of lightning, its consequences for data centres, European standards and the application and possibilities of surge protection (including in combination with rack PDUs).

The potential consequences of direct and indirect lightning strikes are considerable for data centres. In addition to the risk of material damage, there is also a high risk of loss of availability. This is often related to public services and economic value, but also to the functioning of vital business units.

Schleifenbauer’s rack PDUs can be provided with overvoltage protection (type 3). In short, as close as possible to the connected critical end devices for the highest level of security!
