What problems does EnerTree solve?

Lack of visibility?
EnerTree centralises all measurement data from your PDUs – up to 10,000 devices – into a single platform with clear dashboards, reports and alerts.

Wasting time on manual configuration?
EnerTree automatically detects all PDUs in the network, generates dashboards without manual input, and adapts to your infrastructure.

No insight into peak loads or risks?
With real-time monitoring, smart thresholds and incident alerts, EnerTree gives you full control over energy usage, imbalance, overload and failovers.

Limited integration with existing systems?
EnerTree supports SNMP, Modbus/TCP, REST API, HTTPS, LDAP and SQL, and integrates seamlessly with your existing DCIM and IT platforms.

Security concerns?
EnerTree meets enterprise-grade standards with TLS 1.3, AES 256-bit encryption, audit logs, secure boot, role-based access control and Active Directory integration.

No time for lengthy implementations?
The software is ready to use out of the box, with zero-touch provisioning, automatic device detection and an intuitive interface – no training required.

Energy waste due to underused equipment?
Identify underutilised or idle assets, configure alerts and optimise usage through accurate measurements and historical analysis.

Struggling with compliance and reporting?
Schedule automated reports, export to MS SQL or MySQL, and support compliance with real-time and historical metrics down to outlet level.

High software costs with other vendors?
EnerTree is included free of charge with every PDU 5.0 – with no licence or subscription fees. You save immediately on recurring software expenses.

Management and Security

EnerTree offers advanced management and security features for efficient and secure data centre operations.

Real-time alerts and reporting: An open alarm list with live status updates enables immediate issue detection. Automated reports provide deep insights into energy consumption and usage trends.

User management: Assign PDUs to specific users and control access rights in detail with role-based authorisation.

Data integration and export: EnerTree supports integration with MySQL databases for in-depth analysis. A built-in SNMP agent allows seamless export of energy data to external platforms.

Advanced security: Features include configurable strong passwords, user roles, Active Directory® and LDAP/S integration, AES-256 encryption, secure boot, SSH, SSL/TLS 1.3, and HTTPS.

Comprehensive audit logging: All actions at the PDU level are automatically logged for full traceability and compliance.

Seamless integration with existing IT environments: Thanks to LDAP integration, user management fits easily into existing Active Directory structures.

Detection of unused equipment: EnerTree automatically identifies unused assets, allowing quick onboarding into the system.

Automated backups: Regular system backups ensure added security and operational continuity.

Hardware security: In a ring configuration with one PDU equipped with a Gateway or Controller module and the remaining PDUs equipped with Daisy Chain modules, the Daisy Chain modules are deliberately designed without an Ethernet port. As a result, network access via the Daisy Chain modules is not possible. Only the PDU in the ring that is fitted with a Gateway or Controller module provides Ethernet access. This means that per ring only one PDU has an Ethernet port, and only this access point requires additional security if necessary.

Schleifenbauer - Rack PDU

EnerTree Platform in combination with PDU with Gateway Module

The EnerTree Platform requires a combination of a Schleifenbauer PDU 5.0 and a Gateway Module. The PDU acts as the measurement unit, sending real-time data on current, voltage, power and energy consumption directly to the Gateway, which connects to the EnerTree Platform software.

Schleifenbauer has redefined the energy monitoring concept: intelligence is moved from the PDU into the platform, where hardware and software operate in perfect synergy. This enables deep analytics, central configuration and scalable energy management – with less hardware per PDU and full control for the data centre.

Gateway Module PDU 5.0

Gateway Module

The Gateway Module forms the core of the EnerTree Platform, handling all communication, data processing and central management. This module:

• Supports up to 10,000 PDUs (maximum 100 per IP address via daisy chaining)

• Delivers a measurement refresh rate of 1x per second

• Centrally manages configurations, group switching and thresholds

• Automatically detects new PDUs in the network

• Enables seamless connection to the EnerTree Platform software

• Integrates easily with third-party DCIM solutions via SNMP, Modbus/TCP, REST API, HTTPS and more

Physical interfaces on the Gateway Module:

• 1 Gbps RJ45 Ethernet port (for direct network integration)

• 2 RJ45 data bus ports (for ring communication with downstream PDUs)

• 2 USB-A ports (for configuration, sensor expansion or second Ethernet via USB adapter)

Zero-touch provisioning on all interfaces (automatic detection & configuration)

In summary, the EnerTree Platform requires:

• At least one Schleifenbauer PDU 5.0

• At least one Gateway Module

• A host system (server or VM) for the EnerTree DCEM software installation

Daisy Chaining and Network Topology

When using daisy chaining, only one PDU per ring requires a Gateway Module (EnerTree Platform). The remaining PDUs – up to 99 units – are equipped with Daisy Chain Modules, enabling fast data transfer without individual IP addresses. This reduces network load and simplifies configuration.

The absence of an Ethernet port adds an extra layer of security, eliminating exposure to unauthorised access. The module is also cost-efficient, with minimal onboard hardware – ideal for scalable deployments.

Need more functionality later? The hot-swappable design allows you to upgrade to a Gateway or Controller Module at any time, without downtime.

EnerTree Lite in combinatie with PDU with Controller Module

EnerTree Lite is the embedded version of Schleifenbauer’s DCEM software, integrated directly into the Controller Module. This solution is designed for data centres that prefer to manage their PDUs locally, without relying on external server infrastructure. In this setup, each PDU is equipped with its own Controller Module and built-in web interface – a structure that aligns with common market standards. As such, EnerTree Lite is ideal for smaller or conventional environments, where centralised data processing is not required and direct access per PDU is sufficient.

Controller Module PDU 5.0

Controller Module

The Controller Module houses EnerTree Lite as embedded software, accessible directly via the PDU’s web interface – with no need for a separate host, server or installation.

What does EnerTree Lite offer?

• Local access to PDU data via an intuitive web interface

• Supports up to 100 PDUs per system (via daisy chaining)

• Measurement refresh rate: once every 5 seconds

• Visualisation of data per PDU, including input, branch and outlet levels

• Customisable thresholds and alert notifications

• Basic reporting functionality

• Data export to external systems (MS SQL, MySQL, MariaDB)

• Seamless integration with third-party DCIM platforms via SNMP, Modbus/TCP, REST API, HTTPS, and more

Controller Module Interfaces:

1 Gbps RJ45 Ethernet port for network access and web configuration

2 RJ45 data bus ports for communication with daisy-chained PDUs

2 USB-A ports for sensor expansion or a second Ethernet port via USB adapter

Zero-touch provisioning (automatic detection and configuration)

In summary, EnerTree Lite requires:

• At least one Schleifenbauer PDU 5.0

• One Controller Module with built-in EnerTree Lite software (no separate server or desktop required)

Daisy Chaining and Network Topology

When using daisy chaining, only one PDU per ring requires a Controller Module (EnerTree Lite).
