A Milestone for AI, HPC, and Quantum Computing in Europe

Schleifenbauer is proud to contribute to one of the first European NVIDIA DGX B200 BasePOD configurations, installed at the TU/e Supercomputing Centre for AI, HPC, and quantum computing. This cutting-edge infrastructure will significantly enhance Eindhoven University of Technology’s AI research capabilities, solidifying its position as a frontrunner in the field.

PDUs for High-Density AI Infrastructure

For this project, MDCS.AI approached Schleifenbauer to develop a PDU solution that precisely meets the requirements of this high-performance AI environment. Bastiaan de Haan, Product Engineer at Schleifenbauer, designed a PDU based on the exact specifications provided by Michel Cosman from MDCS.AI.

Installation at Borealis Data Centre in Finland

This deployment marks a major step forward in European AI infrastructure, supporting advancements in AI model development, high-performance computing, and quantum computing.

TU/e: A Pioneer in AI Research

As one of the first European institutions to integrate an NVIDIA DGX B200 system, TU/e strengthens its position as a leader in AI, HPC, and quantum computing. The new SPIKE-1 AI Supercomputer will play a crucial role in AI-driven research, including groundbreaking cancer research and advanced computing applications.

The main users of SPIKE-1 will be researchers from the Eindhoven AI Systems Institute (EAISI) and the Mathematics & Computer Science Faculty at TU/e. This project highlights the university’s commitment to collaborative, cross-disciplinary AI research.

A Sustainable Approach to High-Performance AI

The DGX B200 BasePOD is installed in a sustainable data centre in Finland, ensuring energy efficiency without compromising performance. The modular design allows for future scalability as computing demands increase. Additionally, the infrastructure includes a two-year technical refresh cycle as part of NVIDIA DGX-Ready Lifecycle Management, ensuring that the system remains at the cutting edge of AI technology.
