About Inexio

Inexio provides fibre optic services primarily to businesses and currently boasts over 5,000km of its own fibre optic network. Due to increasing customer demand, Inexio built 6 proprietary data centres for hosting their own services and those of their clients.

The Challenge

Inexio aimed to gain comprehensive insight into power consumption in their data centres, both for internal use and for their clients. Therefore, in 2010, Inexio chose Schleifenbauer. The challenge was to remotely monitor all power consumption and make the information available in their own back-office systems.

By utilising Schleifenbauer’s PDUs, this challenge was successfully overcome. Every 15 minutes, the consumption of over 3,000 power points across 6 data centres is monitored and loaded into the CRM and billing systems. This provides Inexio and their clients with 24/7 visibility into server power consumption, enabling optimal climate control adjustment based on usage. This maximises efficiency in power consumption.
