PDUs for mounting in server/patch racks

There are two ways of measuring the quality and quantity of electric current in a data centre:

• Measuring in the server / patch box;
• Measuring in the infrastructure.

The first option is more flexible, allowing solutions which are specific to one box or one end user. For this reason many data centre managers will opt for this variant, because here too change is the only constant.  Nevertheless, there will also be customers to whom measuring in the infrastructure is more attractive. In the 19" racks there are still a large number of variants that influence the selection of the right PDU:

Power entry at the top or bottom of the box?

Metering in the box or under the floor?

Single feed or redundant feed?

Single-phase or three-phase?

16A or 32A?
