Sustainable production

Schleifenbauer Products uses as much as possible sustainable materials in the production of PDUs. Aluminium is a material that can be 100% recycled. Our suppliers are selected on the basis of quality and sustainability and their handling of the environment. As yet, it is not possible to make our products 100% PVC-free, however we are still working to limit the use of plastics to the most environmentally-friendly ones. The long lifetime of our PDUs also contributes towards limiting the use of raw materials.

Local production

By locating the production facility as close as possible to our clients, no unnecessary transport takes place. Ninety per cent of Schleifenbauer's suppliers are within a radius of 50 km from the factory. We have opted for this to guarantee short lines and minimise transport.

No stocks

By supplying customised products exclusively it is not necessary to hold stocks of finished products. No stocks means no storage and no transport. Moreover, our clients do not run the risk that a certain product is recommended solely due to the fact that there are large stocks available. A sophisticated production and assembly process ensures that the client can still receive his customised product within the foreseeable future.

Direct shipment to the end user

To avoid unnecessary transportation of our PDUs they are sent directly from the factory to the end user. This means the risk of transport damage is smaller and there are fewer CO2 emissions.

Sensible packing

Schleifenbauer PDUs are high-quality electronic measurement instruments, which could be damaged during transport. Every PDU is therefore carefully packed in polyethylene foam that is 100% recyclable and contains no heavy metals. Afterwards, they are packed together or separately in cardboard boxes. This cardboard is 100% recyclable as well.

Low power consumption

Schleifenbauer PDUs are the absolute market leaders in the field of power usage. During the design of the 2nd generation of Schleifenbauers we looked very critically at all the components to reduce power consumption to a minimum. This means that all the electronics are very energy saving and we have made all the wiring a size larger, to limit the internal losses of the PDU. This has led to a PDU that in some cases uses 85% less power than comparable models of other brands. The savings of all the Schleifenbauer PDUs that were delivered in 2009, in comparison with other PDUs, is about 250 tons of CO2 emissions.
